It's a long stage Aigüestortes National Park. Its duration is about 7 hours and really if you treat people who are used to walking, not overly difficult. When you reach the finish line in the shelter of the Restanca , if desired , you can spend the night there.
To access the beginning of the stage we do through the Pont de Suert and follow the road to the south beginning Vielha Tunnel . It is recommended to do it in the hottest months (July and August ) .
We start Vielha Espitau through GR -11 road that rises slowly to reach Conangles Bosc is a beautiful forest of beech and fir . These trees are some hard-hit by the harsh climate and observed many traces of lightning in a storm being an area which must be respect.
From the forest we found a track and continue until you reach the river. We crossed . and continue the road , always on the right side while we enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the forest. As we reach the height of 1900 meters, the climb is harder to reach the peg Redó found in the 2180m . Continue to the right until the Port de Rius where we can discern in the distance the majestic Aneto. After the beautiful lac accede Riuseste whose water is connected by a gallery inside to the lac de Mar. From there we set aside the GR path that reaches the Restanca and we continue along a beautiful path along the Tort de Rius on the north side . This trail leads to the Lac de Mar Colhada (2,520 m ) , the incredibly beautiful Catalan Pyrenees where the view presented before our eyes is totally spectacular . The stany is immense , even has an island inside. Said stany bordered the right bank , between granitic rocks and walls until after a sudden drop , we arrive at the Restanca peg.
